US intervention in the south china sea

 THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER

The intervention of china in the south china sea has taken this dispute to the whole new level. Now it is no longer an issue of south east asia, it has  become an International conflict for supremacy of power.
As soon as we hear the word "power" the first country which comes to our mind is U.S.A.  Earlier USA was the only superpower but in recent times china is developing with a rapid speed to become a superpower. So the conflict of south china sea has become a concern for USA.

Recent development of naval bases in the Spratly islands has put USA in tension as through south china sea  30% of the global maritime trade takes place and conquering it means whole control over south east Asia.
To ensure china doesn't develop any other naval base, USA constantly enroutes a destroyer from south china sea passing near to the islands conquered by china. In exchange of this china deployed a war ship and a destroyer to stop USA.
Recently china has also claimed the airspace above south china sea and made it an  AIR IDENTIFICATION ZONE  (AIZ) which means any aircraft which flows through south china sea needs permission from the chinese authorities. To intervene this USA flies its fighter jets over this area without the permission of china.
As it is clearly evident that both the countries want to show there power, and no one will stop in future for the race of becoming the sole superpower which may lead to tensions between them and thus there is a probability of a war between them.
